Pineapple Upside Down Cake Recipe

Sunshine in a Cake!

>>>See all my recipes here!<<<

Pineapple Upside Down Cake Recipe

Imagine a cake that's sunshine on a plate. Picture this: a golden crown of caramelized pineapple rings nestled on top, glistening with buttery sweetness. Beneath lies a tender, fluffy vanilla cake, infused with the essence of pineapple. Each bite bursts with a delightful contrast - the juicy, tropical fruit yielding to the soft, comforting cake, all bound together by a rich, caramelized glaze. This isn't your average cake; it's a pineapple upside-down cake, a dessert that's as fun to say as it is to devour.

Quote For The Day:

"Be a pineapple: Stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside." - Katherine Gaskin

Food For Thought:

Great pickles!

Do you like pickles? I love pickles and I especially enjoy Famous Dave's SWEET 'N SPICY Pickle Chips. This jar is mild and they make pickles that are more hot.

I used to live close to a Famous Dave's restaurant. I would go there once in a while and enjoy the barbecue. Unfortunately, the Famous Dave's location I went to closed down. They didn't get enough business. It surprised me to hear that because the city it was in is large and they should have had plenty of business. Most people like barbecue, right? It was not the cheapest in price so maybe that had something to do with the closing.

Before the cook-down

With the extra vegetables in the house, I decided to throw together a little fried mix. I didn't follow a recipe. I just chose what I wanted, cut it up, and fried it in the skillet. I visited my mother today for a little and she showed me her garden. She gave me a squash and a bell pepper from her garden.

I cut squash, onion, bell pepper, garlic, and jalapeno peppers for this fried dish. I added Tony Chachere's and Slap Ya Mama seasonings. Another seasoning is Old Bay seasoning. It is really great with vegetables. Have you tried any of these seasonings?

Some Questions For You:

  • Have you tried pineapple upside-down cake before?
  • Have you ever made this cake for yourself?
  • Do you like maraschino cherries with your cake?
  • Did you see the recipe that I shared yesterday? It is called Lasagna Classic Flavor Recipe. Please share your thoughts about it in the comment section below.

More Information For You:

You may have first tried this cake because your mother, grandma, or aunt made it and shared it with you. It is difficult to pin down an exact date this recipe was created but it first appeared in the 1920s in Seattle. This cake was very popular for almost 30 years from 1950-1970. It still holds on today as a favorite cake for get-togethers. Visit Quaint Cooking to learn more interesting facts and history about pineapple upside-down cake.

My first memory of this cake is when my grandmother would make it as a birthday cake or bring it to family reunions. This cake is so sweet and delicious. I love the pineapple on top and I like it with maraschino cherries. My grandmother wouldn't always make it with maraschino cherries. She said she made it in a hurry and she didn't have any. I would tell her that is ok and I would happily eat it anyway.

Symphony on a plate!

Lasagna Classic Flavor Recipe

Quote For The Day:

"My perfect last meal would be: shrimp cocktail, lasagna, steak, creamed spinach, salad with bleu cheese dressing, onion rings, garlic bread, and a dessert of strawberry shortcake." - Joan Rivers

Food For Thought:

Jalapeno Ranch Nacho Fries - Taco Bell

Being a lover of all things food, I was out and about and decided to drive through the Taco Bell for a quick bite. I have never tried their Jalapeno Ranch Nacho Fries and it looked good on the menu. I know some people never eat "fast food" but I must admit it has been a part of my lifestyle. I don't eat all fast food by a weakness for me is Taco Bell. Do you eat Taco Bell?

I remember being a kid and watching a futuristic Stallone movie. In the movie there was one restaurant that survived the "Fast Food Wars" and it was Taco Bell. I imagine it was a product placement in a movie but at the time I thought it was humorous.

If you frequent Taco Bell and you haven't tried the Jalapeno Ranch Nacho Fries, I would recommend you try them. They are pretty tasty!

This is for the Taco Bell fan. If you enjoy Taco Bell and would like to make your own Taco Bell food, you might enjoy this Taco Bell Copycat Cookbook. Let me know what you think of it.

A Few Questions For You:

Thoughts On Lasagna Classic Flavor Recipe:

Imagine a visual symphony of textures and flavors. Wide ribbons of lasagna noodles, their edges softened but still toothsome, lie nestled in a rich, tomatoey embrace. This isn't your average tomato sauce; it's a slow-simmered masterpiece, seasoned with herbs and flecked with ground meat, simmered to a deep, savory perfection.

Blanketing the sauce is a creamy, luxurious layer of ricotta cheese, studded with whispers of black pepper and the sharp tang of parmesan. Then comes the crowning glory: a generous showering of molten mozzarella, its golden peaks catching the light, promising a symphony of cheesy indulgence in every bite. This, my friend, is the essence of classic lasagna - a comforting, soul-warming dish where every element plays its part in creating a masterpiece.

I enjoy store-bought lasagna and it is easy to put it in the oven and eat it. There is something special about making it myself. I find a different and better flavor. I don't know if it is the placebo or not but it does taste better homemade.

I have a special memory of my mom cooking lasagna when I was a child. I enjoyed it every time she made it and it was always a special dinner. It seems to me that childhood food memories are fun to recall. Do you have a special memory of lasagna? Maybe you have a family recipe you would like to share with me. I would be more than happy to share your recipe and link back to you.

Quote For The Day:

"I love Twinkies, and the reason I am saying that is because we are all supposed to think of reasons to live." - Stephen Chbosky

Food For Thought:

Let's be creative!

One of my daughters brought vegetables home that a friend gave to her. I am not sure the whole story behind these vegetables but it was nice of her friend to share them with us. What would you do with random vegetables that someone gave to you?

It is an opportunity to be creative with food. It is an opportunity to think about different recipes you might put together.

The first thing that comes to mind is making a vegetable salad with dressing. That is the first thing we made. Onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers are in the salad. There are squash and zucchini in the vegetable selection, so a casserole might be an option for a recipe.

You visited my blog post today to read about Twinkies Jell-O Cake so I will get on with it but before I get on with it I want to ask you if you have had the opportunity lately to share food with a friend. What was the last food item you shared with someone? I would love to hear about your experience. Please leave your comment below; I will respond as soon as I see it.

Some Questions For You:

  • Do you like Twinkies and Jell-O?
  • Have you tried a Twinkies or Jello variation of my recipe? I would like to know what you have tried.
  • Are you looking for an easy no-bake recipe that is quick to make? This recipe is perfect for a fast dessert.
  • What is your favorite no-bake dessert to make?
  • Did you see the recipe I posted yesterday? It is called Homemade Pizza Dough And Sauce Recipe.
  • Have you made homemade pizza before? If you haven't, try it and share your experience with me.
  • Do you want to get creative with Jell-O? Here's a great cookbook with 100 recipes you might find interesting.

More Information For You:

I wanted to share some history on Jell-O with you. When you think of Jell-O, can you hear the advertising slogan in your mind? Jell-O is a gelatin brand that was invented in 1894. In 1902 the first advertising campaign for Jell-O was launched. In 1904 the Jello-O Girl was introduced to help sell the product. An old famous movie production used Jell-O to color horses. What movie was it? To find out, and learn more interesting historical facts about Jell-O, visit What's Cooking America.

Thoughts On Twinkies Jello Cake No Bake Easy Recipe:

This dessert recipe is a great cool treat! It came to me faster than any recipe. It was around 2015 and I was craving Jell-O. I knew I wanted whipped topping with the dessert. It was less than 60 seconds that the recipe just popped into my mind. I could see a picture of it in my imagination. I decided to give it a try. My next visit to the grocery store was filled with the sole purpose of getting the ingredients.

I made it home with my ingredients and began to put this dish together. I couldn't wait to taste it. I knew exactly what I wanted it to taste like. After I made it, I cut a piece of the no-bake cake and put it in my mouth. It was JELLOLICIOUS! I had achieved what I imagined and it tasted even better than I imagined.

Do you want to try this recipe? Whip it up and let me know what you think. Share with a friend and get their feedback. I would love to know what you and your friends think. Leave your comment below on the subject of this nice Jell-O dessert.

Twinkies Jell-O Cake No Bake Easy Recipe - (Cool Treats)

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Twinkies (10 count)
  • 3 boxes of Jell-O or off-brand gelatin (3-ounce box)
  • 1 tub of whipped topping (8 ounces)

1 box of Twinkies

3 boxes of gelatin

1 whipped topping

Instructions:

Place line the bottom of a pan with Twinkies. This worked out great for the dish I used. I only had 9 Twinkies because one of my daughters stole a Twinkie. She didn't know I was planning to make this recipe.

Boil the water for the gelatin in a pot. You will use 3 boxes of gelatin so you will want to multiply the instructions on the gelatin box. I used off-brand gelatin for this recipe.

Add the 3 boxes of gelatin to the boiling water and stir it until it is dissolved. If you don't like the cherry flavor you can use your favorite flavor.

After you have added the 3 boxes of gelatin to the boiling water and stirred it until it is dissolved, it is ready for the next step. Follow the cooking directions on the gelatin box. This is after you have added the cool water and stirred it well.

Pour the cooked gelatin over the Twinkies and fill it just enough to cover the Twinkies. You will want your Twinkies to look like the picture above. If you pour the warm liquid gelatin over the Twinkies too hard it will wash away the spongecake. Try pouring gently between the Twinkies so this doesn't happen.

You should have some gelatin left that wasn't poured on the Twinkies. Place the leftover gelatin and the dish of gelatin-soaked Twinkies in the refrigerator to cool and set.

Next, scoop out the whipped topping into a large bowl and put the leftover set of gelatin in with the topping.

Stir the whipped topping and the gelatin together until it looks like the gelatin is in small pieces. I used a spatula to do this. Stir it up as much as you like.

Place the mixture of gelatin and whipped topping on the set Twinkies dish.

Spread as much topping as you can until the dish is full. You may have a little topping left over but that is ok. Someone will eat it for you.

Here is the finished result! I hope you enjoyed this Twinkies Jell-O Cake No Bake Easy Recipe! Cut, serve, and enjoy! Please share this with a friend and let me know what you think about this cool treat.

Keep on cooking!

Homemade Pizza Dough And Sauce Recipe

Pizza is better homemade!

>>>See all my recipes here!<<<

Homemade Pizza Dough And Sauce Recipe

Quote For The Day:

"Every pizza is a personal pizza if you try hard and believe in yourself." - Bill Murray

Food For Thought:

Deer and babies

Have you tried venison before? I was born and raised in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri. Here in Missouri, it is common to hunt and eat deer. It is a very sporting part of the country. We live close to Springfield, Missouri. The original Bass Pro is located in Springfield. If you get a chance to visit Springfield, you will enjoy the Bass Pro store.

The above picture was taken yesterday with my phone. I couldn't get a clear picture because the deer were far away. It was a doe and her two babies. They were in the city and in that area it is common to see deer often.

Some people have never tried venison. Those who have eaten deer meat either like it or don't. Venison has a gamey taste but is healthier than beef because it is lean. Deer eat acorn and wild vegetation and that caused the gamey flavor.

Would you be interested in venison recipes? I have some I can share with you. Please let me know in the comment section below. The most common way to cook venison in my area is to fry it in oil. I grew up watching my grandmother and mother batter and fry deer meat in a skillet on top of the stove. You can tenderize deer meat.

A Few Questions For You:

  • Have you made completely homemade pizza before?
  • What is your favorite pizza to eat?
  • Do you like anchovies?
  • When you buy cooked pizza, what is your favorite place to purchase pizza?
  • Did you see my recipe from yesterday? It is called Fudge Bake Happiness Recipe. It would go well with pizza for dessert. Take a look and let me know what you think about it.

More Information For You:

Rumor has it that pizza comes from Italy. Farmers would cook pizza in outdoor wood-fired ovens. They topped their pizzas with cheese. Pizza dates back to the 18th century. The first pizza store opened in America in 1905 in New York City. Since then, pizza has gained popularity among Americans. To learn more history and facts about pizza, visit Pete's Brewhouse.

Thoughts On Homemade Pizza:

Homemade pizza tastes better than storebought pizza, and better than frozen pizza for sure. Homemade pizza gives me the opportunity to make it exactly how I want it. I can make the dough, add the amount of sauce I want, and put the toppings of my choice.

I have made pizza from the box and it was good but making homemade pizza from scratch has a different taste. It is more satisfying too because I know I made the whole pizzy myself. Kids love the making process of pizza and it gives them an opportunity to create a food that they normally see the pizza already made for them.

This recipe is categorized under Italian Food but it is very American. Most people in America love pizza and it works well for any fun occasion because it is easy to eat.

Homemade Pizza Dough And Sauce Recipe - (Italian Food)

Fudge Bake Happiness Recipe

Baked Fudge that will make you HAPPY!

>>>See all my recipes here!<<<

Fudge Bake Happiness Recipe

Quote For The Day:

"Nowadays I find chocolate and/or chocolate-based snacks to be great motivators. Everyone loves chocolate. If someone has a lot of work to do, put a piece of fudge in a glass container (so they can see it) and let them know that if they accomplish their tasks, they can eat the fudge. You'll definitely get a reaction!" -Michael Scott

Food For Thought:

The salad I was not happy with!

I was not too long ago I purchased salad on my phone and scheduled to pick it up along with other items I had ordered. I drove to the store and received my items. When I returned home and unpacked my items I noticed the salad did not look the greatest. I was disappointed.

My first thought was to call the store and complain. Then I thought I would leave a bad review. If I had gone into the store myself and handpicked the bag salad I would not have chosen the one they had given me. I wondered why the person who picked the salad for me picked this bag. Were they not paying attention? Did they pick that bag on purpose? What was I going to do about this situation?

I didn't eat the salad. I threw it out. I decided not to complain to the store. I chose not to say anything. I decided to go to the store and pick the bag of salad I wanted next time.

Has this type of thing happened to you before? I hope you have not experienced this. What would you have done in this situation? I am interested in your thoughts about this bag of salad. I think most people would say something but would it do any good? There are many questions that can be asked about this situation and many answers to the questions.

I don't know if I did the right thing or the wrong thing. I think it would have been good to say something about it. As I reflect on this bag of salad I recall many situations in life where something happened that I was not happy with and decided to say nothing. Some things have happened in my past where I did say something because I was unhappy.

I have learned to "pick my battles" in life. When is the right time to say something? When is the wrong time to say something? I believe weighing the cost of saying something is important. What will it cost me to stand my ground on something I believe strongly in? Maybe it will take time? Maybe the person I say something to will retaliate? There is always a cost of some kind.

One thing for sure about me, when I believe so strongly in something, I will raise the issue. What do you think? Can you relate to this situation or similar situations in your life? Your feedback is important to me and I would love to hear from you.

Thoughts On Fudge Bake Happiness:

I live near a place that makes lots of fudge. I love going into the fudge store and looking at all of the fudge. I love the different flavors of fudge the store has. Each fudge has its own incredible look and taste. When I think of fudge I think of the holidays. Maybe because a lot of fudge is made around Christmas time. When you hear the word "fudge" what comes to your mind?

Fudge Browinies

My youngest daughter makes the best fudge brownies. Her brownies have a thick rich layer of fudge on top. It is not an icing. It is a fudge and a good mix of fudge and brownie. She sold her fudge brownies and other baked goods at a local Farmer's Market. She almost always sold out at the market.
