Kentucky Spoon Bread: So Good, It's Gone in Minutes
Imagine a dish so light and airy it's scooped with a spoon, offering a taste of pure Southern hospitality and a warm, buttery embrace with every bite – that's the magic of Kentucky spoon bread.
Kentucky spoon bread is a culinary whisper of the South, a delicate dance between cornbread and pudding. Imagine a cloud of creamy, almost ethereal cornbread, baked until just set, its surface a golden whisper of a crust. Scooped with a spoon, it reveals a soft, custardy interior, releasing a subtle sweetness mingled with the comforting aroma of corn. Each spoonful melts in your mouth, offering a taste of pure Southern hospitality. It's a dish that's both humble and elegant, a perfect accompaniment to savory stews, and roasted meats, or simply enjoyed on its own as a warm, comforting treat. Kentucky spoon bread isn't just food; it's an experience, a taste of history, and a reminder of the simple pleasures of Southern cooking.
Quote For The Day:
"I moved from Kentucky to Miramar, Florida, at about 8. I think I was in second grade. I still had my Southern accent, and down there, you got to experience a melting pot in full fury. All the kids I hung out with were, like, Sicilian kids from Jersey and New York." - Johnny Depp
Food For Thought:
The BEST nachos ever! |
I don't know if you are a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs football team but as you may know, they did not do well this year at the Super Bowl game. I am not a huge fan of football but, I do enjoy a game sometimes. In this area, football is a very big deal to the fans.
We like to get food for the game and I have a friend who I have written about many times in the past who owns the best barbeque food truck I have purchased from.
I saw a post he made about Pulled Pork Nachos that he sells and I put in an order. One bite of these nachos and I was forever sold on them. These nachos came with On The Border chips, queso cheese, smoked pulled pork meat, barbeque baked beans, diced tomatoes, sour cream, jalapenos, green onions, and barbeque sauce.
