This hearty and comforting casserole is perfect for a weeknight meal or a potluck. It is made with a layer of ground beef and then covered in a layer of tater tots. The casserole is baked in the oven until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Quote For The Day:

"Dennis and I, being from a family of devoutly religious eaters, committed not only to socially designated meals but also less traditional mealtimes like "it's already Taco Tuesday in Sweden," "tater tots are mood-enhancing potato pillows," and "cheese is the cure for boredom." - Kira Jane Buxton, Hollow Kingdom

Food For Thought:

My Chicken and Salad

I love chicken and I like to cook chicken in my InstaPot. It is a great cooking device. The chicken always turns our moist and falls off the bone.

I put my chicken in the pot, add balsamic vinegar, Italian dressing, seasoning, Italian seasoning, and then bake it in the pot for 1 hour. If it is frozen I cook it for 1 1/2 hours. The picture above has my chicken, Italian dressing, and ranch dressing with Frank's hot sauce. I like hot sauce with my chicken.

If you are trying a low-carb diet, this is a great recipe. There are no measurements in my chicken recipe. I add the ingredients intuitively.

A Few Questions For You:

  • Have you ever made tater tot casserole?
  • What are the ingredients you added to your casserole that made it different?
  • What type of cheese do you like when making tater tot casserole?
  • How many servings did you get out of your tater tot casserole?

My Thoughts On Tater Tot Casserole:

This is a great casserole that I would call a "meat and tater" meal. It is easy to put together and people love it. I have always enjoyed tater tots and meat covered in cheese mixes well with tater tots. Since serving sizes are different for everyone, I can not say how many servings will come out of this recipe. I do know that if you make this tater tot casserole it will not last long. People will be asking for more.

Extra Information For You:

Easy Baked Beans Recipe

Sweet and Savory Baked Beans

>>>See all my recipes here!<<<

Easy Baked Beans Recipe - (Below)

Unleash the magic of baked beans with this cookbook - discover endless flavor combinations and elevate your barbecue game! 150 recipes!

Easy Baked Beans are a classic comfort food perfect for any occasion. They are made with simple ingredients, including pork and beans, brown sugar, bacon, and ketchup. The beans are baked in the oven until they are heated and the flavors have blended.

Quote For The Day:

"We launched it in the London branch - phenomenal sausages, incredible eggs, homemade baked beans, black pudding - and it's something I wanted to bring to Dubai." - Gordon Ramsay

Food For Thought:

Chicken Alfredo

A friend shared some of her delicious chicken alfredo with me. It was very tasty! She said she made too much and wanted to share. That is always fine with me. She was worried the broccoli pieces in the dish were too big. I told her not to worry because I would eat it without any complaints. I like broccoli and didn't mind that there were large pieces.

When I cook for others I am self-critical about it sometimes and ask questions about the food because I am worried someone might not like it. I think it is a natural way to think about cooking food and sharing it with other people.

Are you a self-conscious cooker or are you confident that the recipient of your creation will love every aspect of the food you make?

It is a kind gesture to share food with other people. If you want to share food with a friend, this Easy Baked Beans Recipe might be a good choice for the occasion. Let me know if you make it and share it with a friend. I would love to know what they think of the recipe.

A Few Questions For You:

Recipe and Process

  • How did you find the sweetness and savoriness balance in the baked beans? Would you adjust the amount of brown sugar or mustard next time?
  • Did you notice a difference in flavor using a different type of baked beans?
  • How long did you let the baked beans simmer? Did you find the cooking time sufficient?

Flavor and Texture

  • What was your favorite aspect of the baked beans? The sweetness, the smokiness, or the texture?
  • Did you add any additional ingredients to the baked beans? If so, what and how did it change the flavor?
  • How would you describe the texture of the finished baked beans? Were they thick and hearty or more saucy?

Serving and Enjoyment

  • What did you serve your baked beans with? Hot dogs, hamburgers, or another dish?
  • Would you recommend this baked bean recipe for a potluck or family gathering? Why or why not?
  • How did the leftovers taste? Did reheating affect the flavor or texture?

Yesterday's Recipe

  • What did you think about the recipe I shared yesterday? If you missed it, it is called Avocado Ugly Dip Recipe. It is an easy recipe you will enjoy.

My Thoughts On Baked Beans:

This recipe is made with pork and beans. When I was a kid, my sister loved pork and beans. We would spend time with my grandparents during the summer and my sister told my grandparents she loved pork and beans. I remember them laughing and they bought a whole case of pork and beans for her to enjoy when she wanted. What won't grandparents do for their grandchildren?

I like bacon in my baked beans. The bacon gives baked beans that smokey flavor that goes well with the sweetness of the brown sugar. When I think of baked beans, I think of family gatherings and the Fourth of July.

Extra Information For You:

Baked beans, a quintessential American comfort food, have a rich history.

  • Native American Origins: The concept of cooking dried beans in a pot likely originated with Native American cultures, who enjoyed beans as a staple food.
  • Puritan Influence: When European settlers arrived in North America, they adopted the practice of cooking beans from the Native Americans. The Puritans, in particular, found baked beans convenient as they could be prepared on Saturday and enjoyed on Sundays when cooking was prohibited.
  • The Role of Molasses: The addition of molasses to baked beans is often attributed to the New England colonists, who had access to this ingredient through the triangular trade.
  • Canned Convenience: The late 19th century brought about the mass production of canned baked beans, making this hearty dish accessible to a wider audience.

Today, baked beans remain a popular side dish, enjoyed in various regional styles and flavors. To learn more interesting facts and the history of baked beans, visit Love Food's article.

Beer Bread and Self-Rising Flour Easy Recipe

Classic Beer Bread

>>>See all my recipes here!<<<

Beer Bread and Self-Rising Flour Easy Recipe - (Below)

Do you want to be a top-notch bread baker? Learn all of the tips and tricks that will impress anyone who you share your skills with. Here is a cookbook you might be interested in looking at.

Beer bread is a moist and flavorful quick bread that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a casual gathering. It is made with a simple batter of flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder, baking soda, and beer, and it is often served with butter or honey.

What makes beer bread so popular?

There are several reasons why beer bread is so popular:

  • It is made with simple ingredients that are readily available.
  • It is relatively easy to make, even for novice bakers.
  • It has a unique and flavorful taste that is different from other quick breads.
  • It is a great way to use up leftover beer.

Tips for making beer bread

Here are a few tips for making your own beer bread:

  • Use a light-colored beer, such as wheat beer or pale ale, for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter, as this will result in tough bread.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing it.
  • Serve beer bread with butter, honey, or your favorite spread.

Quote For The Day:

"If thou tastes a crust of bread, thou tastest all the stars and all the heavens." - Robert Browning

Food For Thought:

Have you ever been on a low-carb diet? I have and I lost 50 pounds. I would cheat on my diet a little every once in a while as a reward but I mostly stayed away from sugar. It is a hard diet and not a diet that is sustainable.

I did incorporate exercise, which contributed a lot to my weight loss. I love bread like most people. I ate mostly salad and chicken. I would cook chicken in my Instapot and I made a great recipe for my chicken.

I put my frozen or thawed chicken in the pot then I intuitively added the following ingredients:

  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Italian dressing
  • Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning
  • Italian seasoning

If thawed, I would cook it for an hour; if frozen, I cooked it for an hour and 1/2.

If you try this I would like to know what you think about my Instapot chicken recipe. You can adjust the amount of ingredients to your taste.

Some Questions For You:

  • Do you like beer bread?
  • Have you baked bread before? If so, what kind of bread did you bake?
  • Did you read my recipe post from yesterday? It is called Peanut Butter Crumble Pie Easy No Bake Recipe. I would like to know what you think of it.

My Thoughts On Beer Bread:

I really enjoy beer bread. It has a great beer flavor without the alcohol. I like to put real butter on a slice of beer bread and sprinkle it with salt. If I use salted butter I don't use table salt. I think beer bread goes well with any main dish. It's an easy bread to make and the classic recipe will impress anyone who tastes it.

More Information For You:

A Brief History of Beer Bread

  • The Rise of Quick Breads: The popularity of quick breads emerged in the mid-19th century with the advent of baking powder and baking soda. These leavening agents eliminated the need for long fermentation times, making bread-making more accessible.
  • Beer as an Ingredient: The use of beer in bread likely began as a practical way to utilize leftover beer. The carbonation in the beer acts as a leavening agent, contributing to the bread's rise and texture.
  • American Popularity: Beer bread gained widespread popularity in the United States during the 20th century, becoming a beloved comfort food. Its simplicity and versatility contributed to its enduring appeal.

Beer bread is a relatively recent addition to the culinary landscape. While the art of bread-making dates back millennia, the specific combination of flour, sugar, and beer to create quick bread is a more modern invention.

While the exact origins of beer bread might be somewhat obscure, its connection to the history of quick bread and the availability of beer as an ingredient provides a plausible explanation for its creation.

Here are their instructions:

GREAT IDEA!! FOR BACKYARD FUN, NO BUGS!!

There was some discussion a while back on getting rid of mosquitos. While there's lots of products out there, here's one way to do it, have a stylish yard and keep the costs down too.

All you need is a package of Mason jars, some wicks from Amazon You can use vegetable oil as a carrier and mix in essential oils. There are like 19 of them that repel. Google it. Mix some vanilla extract in it the blood suckers hate vanilla

• Citronella works for some bugs but not so much mosquitoes

Use a hammer and nail to poke a hole in the top of the lid, then pour in the oil, put the top on and drop in the wick. Allow about 10 minutes to soak up some oil, then place them around your backyard and light them!

Food For Thought:

Let's be creative!

One of my daughters brought vegetables home that a friend gave to her. I am not sure the whole story behind these vegetables but it was nice of her friend to share them with us. What would you do with random vegetables that someone gave to you?

It is an opportunity to be creative with food. It is an opportunity to think about different recipes you might put together.

The first thing that comes to mind is making a vegetable salad with dressing. That is the first thing we made. Onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers are in the salad. There are squash and zucchini in the vegetable selection, so a casserole might be an option for a recipe.

You visited my blog post today to read about Twinkies Jell-O Cake so I will get on with it but before I get on with it I want to ask you if you have had the opportunity lately to share food with a friend. What was the last food item you shared with someone? I would love to hear about your experience. Please leave your comment below; I will respond as soon as I see it.

Some Questions For You:

  • Do you like Twinkies and Jell-O?
  • Have you tried a Twinkies or Jello variation of my recipe? I would like to know what you have tried.
  • Are you looking for an easy no-bake recipe that is quick to make? This recipe is perfect for a fast dessert.
  • What is your favorite no-bake dessert to make?
  • Did you see the recipe I posted yesterday? It is called Homemade Pizza Dough And Sauce Recipe.

  • Do you want to get creative with Jell-O? Here's a great cookbook with 100 recipes you might find interesting.

More Information For You:

I wanted to share some history on Jell-O with you. When you think of Jell-O, can you hear the advertising slogan in your mind? Jell-O is a gelatin brand that was invented in 1894. In 1902 the first advertising campaign for Jell-O was launched. In 1904 the Jello-O Girl was introduced to help sell the product. An old famous movie production used Jell-O to color horses. Thoughts On Twinkies Jello Cake No Bake Easy Recipe:

This dessert recipe is a great cool treat! It came to me faster than any recipe. It was around 2015 and I was craving Jell-O. I knew I wanted whipped topping with the dessert. It was less than 60 seconds that the recipe just popped into my mind. I could see a picture of it in my imagination. I decided to give it a try. My next visit to the grocery store was filled with the sole purpose of getting the ingredients.

I made it home with my ingredients and began to put this dish together. I couldn't wait to taste it. I knew exactly what I wanted it to taste like. After I made it, I cut a piece of the no-bake cake and put it in my mouth. It was JELLOLICIOUS! I had achieved what I imagined and it tasted even better than I imagined.

Do you want to try this recipe? Whip it up and let me know what you think. Share with a friend and get their feedback. I would love to know what you and your friends think. Leave your comment below on the subject of this nice Jell-O dessert.

Twinkies Jell-O Cake No Bake Easy Recipe - (Cool Treats)

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Twinkies (10 count)
  • 3 boxes of Jell-O or off-brand gelatin (3-ounce box)
  • 1 tub of whipped topping (8 ounces)

1 box of Twinkies

3 boxes of gelatin

1 whipped topping

Instructions:

Place line the bottom of a pan with Twinkies. This worked out great for the dish I used. I only had 9 Twinkies because one of my daughters stole a Twinkie. She didn't know I was planning to make this recipe.

Boil the water for the gelatin in a pot. You will use 3 boxes of gelatin so you will want to multiply the instructions on the gelatin box. I used off-brand gelatin for this recipe.

Add the 3 boxes of gelatin to the boiling water and stir it until it is dissolved. If you don't like the cherry flavor you can use your favorite flavor.

After you have added the 3 boxes of gelatin to the boiling water and stirred it until it is dissolved, it is ready for the next step. Follow the cooking directions on the gelatin box. This is after you have added the cool water and stirred it well.

Pour the cooked gelatin over the Twinkies and fill it just enough to cover the Twinkies. You will want your Twinkies to look like the picture above. If you pour the warm liquid gelatin over the Twinkies too hard it will wash away the spongecake. Try pouring gently between the Twinkies so this doesn't happen.

You should have some gelatin left that wasn't poured on the Twinkies. Place the leftover gelatin and the dish of gelatin-soaked Twinkies in the refrigerator to cool and set.

Next, scoop out the whipped topping into a large bowl and put the leftover set of gelatin in with the topping.

Stir the whipped topping and the gelatin together until it looks like the gelatin is in small pieces. I used a spatula to do this. Stir it up as much as you like.

Place the mixture of gelatin and whipped topping on the set Twinkies dish.

Spread as much topping as you can until the dish is full. You may have a little topping left over but that is ok. Someone will eat it for you.

Here is the finished result! I hope you enjoyed this Twinkies Jell-O Cake No Bake Easy Recipe! Cut, serve, and enjoy! Please share this with a friend and let me know what you think about this cool treat.

Keep on cooking!
