Perfect Donuts Recipe

Quote For The Day:

"As you ramble on through life, brother, whatever be your goal; keep your eyes upon the donut, and not upon the hole." - Murry Banks

Learn How To Make Your Baking Pan Look Like New:

Do you have a baking pan that looks like this? If you do any amount of baking or cooking at all, you will likely say yes to that question. Oven pans look burnt over time because of their general use. Nothing to be ashamed of. What do you do when your pan looks like this?

I was scrolling through Facebook and found this meme by the group Gen X. There were many comments on the subject. Some people said they love their pan looking like this. Others said they should throw it out. Some people gave tips on how to clean the pan. I personally don't want to throw out any cooking pans unless they are falling apart.

I know if you own a griddle it is good to have it dark and seasoned so food does not stick while cooking. There is a process to cleaning the griddle and burning cooking oil on it to make have a black color.

You may not mind your baking pans looking like they are burnt. That's ok. No judgment here. If you are someone who wants their baking pans to look brand new all the time, there is something you can do. I did a little research and found a cleaning process that will make your baking pans look like new. You can use two household items to clean your pans.

Some Questions For You:

More Information For You:

One of the quickest ways to make homemade donuts is to use canned biscuits. Just pop the can open and drop them in oil after you cut the donut hole. It is a great cooking project to do with kids. They enjoy the pop that canned biscuits make when you open them. It will make them jump and giggle. That gets me every time.

My Thoughts On Perfect Donuts Recipe:

This Perfect Donuts Recipe is basically a copycat recipe for the Krispy Kreme donut. They keep the recipe locked up and only a few people in the upper ranks of the corporation know the recipe. The recipe I am sharing with you is not a Krispy Kreme recipe but after you make and taste these donuts you might say they taste like Krispy Kreme donuts.

You may notice the recipe calls for scalded milk. Scalded milk makes the donuts very light and fluffy and also helps the vanilla flavor stand out in the taste. It makes a big difference between a regular donut and a superior one.

The recipe has a regular sugar glaze with it but if you want to decorate your donuts you can add food coloring to the glaze and add your favorite sprinkle candy on top. You are only limited by your imagination when it comes to decorating donuts. Have fun with it!

Perfect Donuts Recipe - (Pies & Pastries) 4-5 dozen

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint milk (scalded and cooled)
  • 1 cake yeast or dry yeast package
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 egg yolks or 2 whole eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 5 to 6 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in cooled milk and add 2 cups flour.
  2. Let it set in a warm place for about 1/2 hour.
  3. Meanwhile beat the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Then add to the sponge after it has set the half-hour.
  5. Melt the butter and also add to the sponge.
  6. Add the last 5 to 6 cups of flour as needed.
  7. Knead lightly, put it in a well-greased bowl, and set it in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
  8. Knead down lightly and let rise again; divide into 2 portions.
  9. Turn on a flowered board or cabinet top.
  10. Pat to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with a donut cutter.
  11. Lay the cutout donuts on a lightly floured cloth cover and let rise until light.
  12. Drop in hot oil at 360°; top side down. (This is important as it's the lightest side and the underside which will be the top side in the hot oil will rise a little more.)
  13. Drain the donuts on paper towels.
  14. Roll the donuts in powdered or granulated sugar or make a powdered sugar glaze and dip the donuts.

Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Instructions:

Mix the powdered sugar and water together well. Dip the donuts in the glaze. Mix more glaze if needed.

Keep on cooking! -The Recipe Guy
