Best Beef Vegetable Soup Recipe - (Soups)

Ingredients:

*This recipe fills an 8-quart cooking pot.

1 package beef stew chunks (or 2 lbs. ground beef)
1 tablespoon mined garlic
1 carton beef broth (Swanson 32 ounces)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (heaping)
2 packs beef soup mix (Lipton, 1 box)
1 jar salsa (On The Border, Medium, 24 oz. or 2-16 oz. jars)
1 can green beans (14.5 oz.)
1 can sweet peas (15 oz.)
1 can mixed veggies (15 oz.)
2 cans sliced potatoes (15 oz. each)
2 cans Whole Kernel Corn (15 oz. each)
2 cans Dark Red Kidney Beans (15.5 oz each)
2 cans Stewed Tomatoes, Italian Style (14.5 oz.)
1 V8 Vegetable juice original (46 oz.) *just fill the pot 1 inch from the top.
5 shakes of black pepper
12 shakes of Tobasco sauce
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 tablespoons sugar (heaping)
Salt to taste

Directions:

Cook the beef directly in the 8-quart cooking pot. Once the beef is fully cooked add the garlic and stir in. Next, pour a carton of beef broth and allow it to heat well. Add Italian seasoning, beef soup mix, and salsa. Bring the pot to a boil and stir well. Mix in green beans, peas, mixed veggies, sliced potatoes, corn, kidney beans, and stewed tomatoes, and stir well between adding each can. Fill the pot with vegetable juice until it is 1 inch from the top of the pot. Add black pepper, Tobasco sauce, crushed red pepper, and sugar, then salt to taste. Place lid on top and simmer on very low for 30 minutes.

My Thoughts On Best Beef Vegetable Soup:

I worked on this recipe for about two years. I searched for basic ingredients for a beef vegetable soup and slowly added other ingredients until I felt I had a great-tasting soup. I like to say my "secret" ingredient in this recipe is the On The Border medium salsa. Adding salt to your taste will bring out the flavor of the salsa. Everyone who tastes this soup recipe says it's the BEST they ever had. Try it for yourself and see what you think. This is a big pot recipe and will work great for large gatherings.

More Information On Beef Vegetable Soup:

Beef vegetable soup can have a variety of vegetables. This soup dates back to Roman times. In America, its history is considered a "country" soup. You may notice what vegetables are missing from my recipe. You can add or omit the vegetables you like best. Keep the other ingredients the same and you will hit on the flavor I created for this soup recipe. Learn more about Vegetable Soup here.

Questions For You:

Do you like beef vegetable soup? Do you have a recipe to share? If you have a recipe to share and also a picture, I will be glad to publish it here and link it back to you for traffic and credit. Did you see yesterday's recipe? It is called East Indian Chicken Recipe and if you are an Indian food lover, I know you will enjoy the recipe.

My Thoughts For Today:

My birthday gifts!

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a good day. I enjoyed the day at home with my family. I ate good food and received birthday gifts and cards. My oldest daughter made banana cream pie for me and it is wonderful. She and her husband also gave me Dr. Squatch PINE TAR soap. It smells nice and I look forward to using it. My wife and youngest daughter gave me chicken seasoning I wrote about in a previous post and SOCAL cologne. That has been my signature scent for many years. There is a story behind that but I will spare you for now. My youngest daughter made my favorite cake called Sunshine Cake. It is a cold cake with a whipped topping that has crushed pineapple in it. What a nice day!

Dutch Oven Barbeque Beef Recipe - (Main Dishes, Beef)

Ingredients:

1 rump roast (3-4 pounds)
1 onion (medium, sliced)
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (or to your taste)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 bottle catsup (14 ounces)
1-2 tablespoons brown sugar
Hamburger buns

Directions:

Place the rump roast in the Dutch oven. Combine the remaining ingredients, except the hamburger buns, and pour it over the rump roast. Cover the Dutch oven and bake at 250 degrees for 3 1/2-4 hours or until the meat is tender. Cool the meat slightly, cut into thin slices, and serve on hamburger buns.

Thoughts On Dutch Oven Barbecue Beef:

Dutch ovens are great to bake and cook with. This recipe cooks the rump roast slowly and seals in the juices along with a great aroma because of the special barbecue sauce mix. I love barbecue beef any time of the year. You can make this recipe all year round because it is baked in the oven. If you have a grill with a good thermostat that will work great for outdoor cooking. This recipe can be served with potato salad or baked beans. In the Southern parts of the United States coleslaw is served on top of the barbecue sandwich. I first learned about coleslaw in barbecue in West Tennessee. It actually tastes great!

Interesting Information For You:

The Dutch oven comes from the Netherlands. Cast iron Dutch ovens were created by Abraham Darby. If you are an outdoors person you can use a Dutch oven over a campfire. There are so many different foods that can be cooked with a Dutch oven. Dutch ovens are even commonly used in South Africa and other countries. You can visit the Wasserstrom blog to learn the history of the Dutch oven, more about its origin, all the countries where it is used, the many uses, and even how to care for your Dutch oven. You will also learn how to shop for a Dutch oven that is perfect for you.

Some Questions For You Today:

Do you own a Dutch oven? If you don't own one, maybe you have a friend who would let you borrow theirs until you purchase one. You will need one for this recipe. Have you ever eaten food cooked in a Dutch oven? Please share your experience with me. Did you see my last recipe that was posted yesterday? If you missed it, it is called Kahlua Cake Recipe and I think you will like it. Check it out!

My Thoughts For Today:

Read on to see my secret seasoning recipe for grilled pork steak.

I love cooking out on the charcoal grill. I know propane is quicker but I love the charcoal flavor that gets into the meat. I bought pork steak and seasoned it my special way. I am glad to share what I use here. In past posts, I have mentioned how much I like Tony Cachere's Creole seasoning. That's my secret for pork steak. I begin by sprinkling black pepper on my steaks and then follow up with Tony Cachere's Creole seasoning. I rub it in the meat really well and I carefully season the whole meat. Not too much but completely seasoned. My pork steak has a spicy taste to it so if you have delicate taste buds you might want to use less. You just have to experiment.

The beans, coleslaw, macaroni salad, and potato salad were all store-bought. It is the holiday weekend Memorial Day on Monday so I am sure we will eat more food like this before going back to work.

Keep on cooking!

Cheesy Baked Potatoes Easy Recipe

Cheesy and creamy!

>>>See all my recipes here!<<<

*Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest so you never miss a recipe.

Cheesy Baked Potatoes - (Main Dishes, Potato)

Ingredients:

12 medium potatoes
8 ounces Philadelphia cream cheese
16 ounces sour cream
1 stick of butter
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2-3 cups shredded cheese (save 1 cup to top)

Directions:

Peel and cook the potatoes until tender. Drain the water from the potatoes and mash them. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, butter, garlic salt, and 1/2 of the shredded cheese. Mix together well. Put the potato mix into a 13x9 greased pan, and refrigerate overnight. Add the remaining shredded cheese to the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Thoughts On Cheesy Potatoes:

If you have a craving for potatoes this recipe is the one! The potatoes are so creamy and cheesy, you will love them. I grew up in the midwest and mashed potatoes were always a part of a meal. We almost always had white or brown gravy with potatoes but when I first tried cheesy baked potatoes I could eat that as a main dish. There is something about letting the potato mix set in the refrigerator overnight that makes this recipe work so well. Chilling the potato mix allows everything in the recipe to settle and absorb with the potatoes to give it a creamy taste. It is delicious!

More Information For You:

Baked potatoes in general have a very interesting history. Did you know that in the United Kingdom, a baked potato is called a "jacket potato"? They were a very popular street food and were sold to common poor people. You can find more interesting facts about the baked potato by visiting the Happy Cow.

Questions For You Today:

Have you tried cheesy baked potatoes? If you haven't, you will love them if you are a fan of potato recipes. I admit I like to add salt to my cheesy potatoes. Did you see my last recipe? If you missed it, it is called Lemon Bars Easy Recipe and the lemon bars will serve as a great dessert after you enjoy the cheesy baked potatoes.

My Thoughts For The Day:

Funny food meme a friend shared.

A friend shared this funny food meme and I had to share it with you. Have you tried cow tongue? When I was around 12 years old I tried cow tongue. My dad worked for a fence company in East Texas. He had a Hispanic coworker and we were invited to come over to eat and visit. It was a fun time and the aroma in the air of food cooking smelled wonderful. I remember being served cow tongue and at first I thought I didn't want to try it because it was a tongue. After a little convincing, I decided to taste my serving. I did like it but I haven't tried beef tongue since then. I have eaten many eggs though.

My Thoughts About Beef Parmigiana:

Beef! You gotta love it! There are so many ways to cook beef. Beef Parmigiana is one of the tastiest ways to cook beef. I have always considered beef parmigiana an Italian recipe but no matter what type it is, I have always loved it. If you enjoy wine with your dinner, enjoy your favorite glass of red wine with this dish.

Growing up my mother mostly cooked chicken parmigiana but there is nothing like the beef taste with parmigian cheese. I do like a little extra cheese on my beef parmigiana, and sauce too. This recipe calls for a whole tablespoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. The sweet and salty combination makes you want to take one bite after another. To me, that is the secret of cooking great recipes.

Extra Information For You:

Okay, you know where beef comes from just like everyone else around the globe, but I wanted to share some information I found about specifically, parmigiana. This is another one of my Italian dishes and the word parmigiana strikes up a feeling of Italy for me. Well, it makes me think of Olive Garden mostly. I just love going to Olive Garden. When the server comes with that little cheese grater and asks if I want cheese, I feel bad to say yes but I just can't help myself sometimes. I am almost tempted to ask the server to just leave the grater at the table and I can do it myself because I am afraid they will judge me for how long I make theme crank on the dang thing.

There are several different locations in Italy that claim they originated parmigiana but there is really no way to tell exactly where this wonderful cheese came from. One thing is for sure, each location in Italy has its own version of Parmigiana. You can learn more about Parmigiana by visiting a great article by Tuscookany called Parmigiana, A classic Italian dish, where does it come from?

A Few Questions For You:

First of all, I just have to ask you, because I always do in all my posts, what is your favorite parmigiana dish? I know that eggplant parmigiana is very common, and even chicken, but there are other parmigiana dishes you might like. I'm gonna have to step out here and answer my own question. My favorite is beef parmigiana. Now, being from Missouri, and growing up eating deer meat, I will also add that deer parmigiana is very good. Especially because I love the taste of deer. I hope I didn't lose you on that comment. Some people are very touchy when it comes to deer meat. I really don't understand it other than they possibly did not grow up eating deer.

Next question. Did you happen to see my last recipe? It is a dessert recipe and if you decide to cook beef parmigiana my last recipe will go well with this one. Trust me when I tell you, it is so delicious. It is called Blueberry Crisp Easy Recipe and I would love to know what you think of it.

Personal Thoughts I'd Like To Share:

Over the past weekend, I decided to make chili. I used the recipe I shared in previous a previous post. As I mentioned I worked on it for a few years to get it just the way I like it. Do you like chili? God knows I could eat it just about every day. Maybe it's a "guy" thing. I have heard that stereotype in movies. I heard that about spaghetti too. "Men can live on chili and spaghetti." I've heard them say. I think there might be some truth to that. You can make a bunch of it and it lasts a long time. What are your thoughts?

Anyway, a friend of mine mentioned White Chicken Chili and that got my attention because I have never cooked it before. I did use chicken in my chili recipe instead of beef. It turned out pretty good and I think I will have some for lunch today. The White Chicken Chili has my attention because first of all, it's chili, and second of all there are different spices. I love spices and cooking with them.

The chicken chili I made this weekend.

You may notice I have corn in my chili in the picture I shared above. I love how the chicken looks in the chili and it tastes pretty good. I will have to admit I like beef just a little better in my chili and I am not just saying that because this is a post on beef. I genuinely like the taste a little better.

I think this is a good time to show you what I found at the local "Big Box" store while doing some shopping.

UNICORN POOP marshmallows by YUMMALLO

I was in the store and saw marshmallows called UNICORN POOP and I think it's beautiful marketing. It is so funny to me. I haven't looked into this company that makes these but they kind of make me think of marshmallow Peeps but not as cute. I didn't buy the Unicorn Poop but I did find another bag of marshmallows that I decided to get.

Yummallo POPCORN Marshmallows

I found Popcorn marshmallows and decided to get those for my two little granddaughters. I think those are a little more appropriate than Unicorn Poop. They are made by the same company and I was curious to know what they tasted like. I have tried popcorn flavor taffy and I really like taffy. I thought the popcorn marshmallows would taste the same but they didn't have the same popcorn taste as the taffy. There was just a hint of popcorn flavor. Have you tried any of these marshmallows?

After giving these marshmallows a taste I divided them up into sandwich bags for my granddaughters. When I took these marshmallows to them they seemed happy to have them. It's the little thing I do with my grandkids. I want them to always remember their "Papaw" giving them marshmallows. Is that silly?

Well, I want to finish up by saying I will probably give the White Chicken Chili a try this weekend. Maybe share it with family and see what they think of it. It has turned cold here in the Ozarks right now and soup and chili seem to hit the spot for me.

Texas Hash Easy Recipe

*Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest so you never miss a recipe.

Texas Hash Easy Recipe - (Main Dishes, Beef)

Ingredients:

1 pound hamburger
1 large green pepper (chopped)
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1-2 tablespoons chili powder
3 large onions (diced)
2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, stir ground beef until it is light brown. Then drain off the fat. Add the onions, and green peppers, cook, and stir until the onions are tender. Stir in the tomatoes, rice, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Heat thoroughly, and pour into an ungreased 2-quart casserole dish. Cover & bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

My Thoughts On Texas Hash:

When I was a child I lived in East Texas. Longview, Texas to be exact. I lived there for about seven years. I loved it there but I am originally from Missouri. I picked up a little accent while living in East Texas, which was very noticeable when I moved back to Missouri. It is amazing how a person can adapt to a certain geographical area and pick up an accent. One thing that also was picked up was my love for Texan food. I love Texas Hash! If you have never tried this recipe I would encourage you to give it a whirl! There's some Texas talk for you!

Extra Information For You:

Texas Hash is really a Tex-Mex casserole but I logged it under Beef Dishes in this blog because of the love for beef in Texas and originality. This recipe is something that the whole family will love. The recipe originated in 1971 by the one and only Betty Crocker. I'm just kidding! She didn't invent it. She just published it then to share her version with the world. Betty Crocker isn't even a real person. She is a brand. Texas Hash is originally thought to come from the Great Depression era when families needed to conserve food and make ingredients stretch just to survive. You can learn more about its origin by visiting Apron Advisor.

A Question Or Two For Ya:

Do you remember the first time you tried Texas Hash? If you don't remember the first time then maybe you remember the last time. Did you cook it or did someone else? If you make this recipe would you mind sharing your experience with me here? Great! I knew you would. Also, did you see my last recipe? If you missed it, it is called Choco-Holic Ho Ho Cake. Check it out and tell me what you think of it too.

Personal Thoughts For Today: (Wood Pellet Stove Installation Pictures)

It has been a busy week for me as usual and I have been working on my wood pellet stove, as you may know from reading my previous posts. I got the area wall cleaned up and ready to get this thing installed. The nights here have been colder and I appreciate the warmth of wood heat. I am really looking forward to it being warmer and cheaper to heat my home.

Where the propane wall heater hung.

I need to paint over the spots on the wall where the propane heater used to hang. I got the holes filled and then I moved on to the next step in the process. I had to find the flue exhaust pipe hole and drilled in the area where I thought it was until finally I found it. I began by cutting the hole all the way open until it was completely revealed. I think I removed so many bird nests from the flue I filled up a small trash can.

I put putty in the hanging holes. Next, I need to paint.

You can see in the picture above where I placed putty in the wall holes where the propane wall heater used to hang. You can also see the propane line coming in through the floor. I have a cut-off valve on there and was advised to cap it off with a flair cap to be safe. I didn't have to put it under the floor. I decided to keep it there if I wanted to use it in the future for a propane heater. I still have a central air system that has a propane furnace in it but the more options available for heat is the best in my opinion.

6-inch flue hole I gloriously cut out.

How do you like the tiny drill holes above my flue exhaust hole? I tapped on the sheetrock that covers my flue and listened. I thought I found the hole but as you can tell, I had it wrong. I think it is funny. Well, that is just some more holes I will have to putty over and paint. I plan to run a 3-inch exhaust pipe up through the flue to use for the wood pellet stove instead of using the original flue itself. My home is an old home and I am sure the flue was built to resist heat but by using the exhaust pipe I am being safe.

Stove pipe for the flue I bought at Lowe's.

This weekend my daughter and I visited Lowe's and purchased three 60-inch stove exhaust pipes. I previously measured my flue that when down to the opening inside and it was about 12 feet. That gives me a little extra when I install the topper and cap on top of the house. I also purchased a 3-inch elbow to connect to the pipe on the inside of the flue. At the time of the purchase, these pipes were about $14 each. After-tax, my total was around $50 dollars. It is adding up for sure but it is an investment that will pay for itself in the long run.

Hole for cold air intake hose.

Since the wood pellet stove has to have cold air from the outside I figured out a great way to get it. I decided to drill a 2 1/4-inch hole in the floor behind where the stove will sit. I can run the intake hose under the house over to a vent on the side of the house. It really worked out perfectly because the vent is in the exact place I need it. I bought a 2 1/4-inch Craftsman drill bit because that is the size of the intake hose that came with my wood pellet stove. I also purchased this drill bit at Lowe's. It was the cheapest option for me and worked great.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today about Texas Hash Easy Recipe and my wood pellet stove installation journey. Please feel free to share this post with a friend and if you have any tips or feedback about this recipe or my wood pellet stove I sure would love to hear from you. I am learning how to install this stove so if you can, please help me out. Thanks so much for reading!

Italian Meatballs Easy Recipe And The Taco Food Truck

Goes great with the pasta of your choice!

*Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest so you never miss a recipe.

Italian Meatballs Easy Recipe - (Italian Food)

Ingredients:  - (Meatball Mix)

1 pound round steak
1/2 pound lean pork (ground fine)
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup cheese (shredded fine)
1 small onion (grated)
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon ground sage (optional)

Sauce:

1 small can tomatoes (mashed)
1 cup water
1 onion (diced)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Mix all ingredients for meatballs thoroughly and form into small balls. Roll in flour and put into the pan. Mix all ingredients for the sauce and cook for 5 minutes. Pour sauce over meatballs and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Thoughts On Italian Meatballs:

Meatballs automatically go with pasta of some kind right? This easy Italian Meatball recipe is one you will enjoy eating for sure. The sauce is out of this world too. You might have noticed in the recipe that ground sage is optional. I love the taste of sage but if you don't like it as much you can easily leave it out. I like spaghetti noodles when I eat meatballs because that is what I am used to and it is most traditional here in America. I would say that any pasta will do.

Extra Information:

It is commonly thought that meatballs were invented by Italians and they brought the recipe to America when they immigrated in the late 1880's and early 1900's. According to history, the earliest known origin of meatballs comes from Rome. You can learn more about the meatballs by visiting Escoffier's post on Bringing Spaghetti And Meatballs To America.

A Question For You:

Do you like pasta with your meatballs? What kind of past do you like? Do you like grated cheese on top? Every time I visit Olive Garden I love to watch the server grate the cheese over the pasta. Also, did you miss my last recipe? It has beef and pasta in it. It is called Beef Stroganoff Biscuit Casserole in case you missed it.

Personal Thoughts For Today:

I wanted to share a food story from last Tuesday. It was a pretty good day as far as Tuesdays go. My employer rewarded us by feeding us lunch that day. As I work in a wood product manufacturing facility, we have a record of safety throughout the year. We have gone a whole year without any recordable incidents and that was cause for celebration.

I Love TACOS TAQUERIA food truck

Do you like food trucks? It seems that food trucks are really popular lately and there are many to choose from in our area. With the warmer weather, the restaurants really increase their revenue by going out into the communities and serving customers where they are. They may set up in retail parking lots, festivals, or even in front of their own restaurant location. Most of the trucks are decorated nicely and catch the eye with bright colors and graphics. I just love some of the catchy names these businesses have.

steak burrito with chips and salsa

We didn't have to pay for our food when the food truck came. Our company paid for the food and I was very happy to get it. I was hungry and I was craving Mexican food. I decided to get the steak burrito. You can tell from the picture I shared here that the burrito was really big. Look at it in comparison to the can of Dr Pepper. It was really good! The burrito came with chips and salsa. After I ate everything and I had to go back to work, It took me an hour or two to feel normal again. My feet felt like steak burritos. They were so heavy and all I wanted to do was take a nap. If my employer is reading this they will be happy to know I did not take a nap. I went back to work and worked very hard.

Share a link in the comments to your favorite food truck!

1 cup chopped onion
1 (8 ounces) package of cream cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup catsup
1 tube biscuits

Thoughts On Beef Stroganoff Casserole:

Beef Stroganoff or Stroganov has a Russian food history and I absolutely love it! If you are reading this post then chances are you love it too. This is one of the easiest dishes to prepare and most everyone enjoys this food, even the picky eaters. When I was a kid my mom would make beef stroganoff for dinner and I always ran to the big skillet she cooked in to get me a big plate. Do you like to add anything on top of your beef stroganoff when you eat it? I like salt and pepper!

Extra Information:

Did you know Stroganov was a real person? His name was Alexander Stroganov. Of course, there are other people linked to Beef Stroganoff and you can learn more about these people and the history of this recipe by visiting The Moscow Times.

Quick Question or Two:

How often do you eat Beef Stroganoff? Do you make it yourself or do you enjoy someone making it for you? Also, have you ever eaten leftover Stroganoff on bread like a sandwich? I do that sometimes myself. To me, it makes a great cold sandwich. What dessert do you like after a big meal of Beef Stroganoff? If you are looking for a great dessert then you might like my last easy recipe. It is called Breakfast Milkshake Parfait. Let me know what you think of it. It is easy to prepare and tastes really good.

Personal Thoughts: (and bonus Best Chili Recipe)

I'm going to share my Best Chili Recipe but first I wanted to share how my weekend went.

I didn't get to work as much online as I wanted to because I had so much to do around the house so I am actually putting this post together Sunday night. I also have been working on an article for my homesteader website and I am behind on that for sure. I may have mentioned doing an interview in Jasper, Missouri. It's about an hour and a half drive away from where I live. A man named Jimmy Carter, not the President, welcomed me to his incredible hand-built home and we captured tons of video. I will be sharing a link to that article once I get it published.

Cooler weather is coming on here in the Ozarks and I am installing a wood pellet stove. I had a propane wall heater hanging up but I removed it and will sell it on the Facebook Marketplace. I don't know how much I will get out of the stove but I know it will go to someone who will make good use of it. I'll share a picture here of the propane wall heater.

propane wall heater

I've had this propane wall heater hanging for many years. I haven't used it for several years now because I primarily heat with the propane central air furnace. It is a good backup if the power goes out but my new wood pellet stove I will get this week will do much better. I will be sharing more on that project as it comes along. I'm just trying to diversify and save money with the wood pellet stove project.

Another project I did was to go to my wife's apartment in my daughter's room and help put a school desk together for them. You know how those do-it-yourself projects go. The products are cheaply made and the instructions are sometimes difficult to understand. Getting the right screw in the right place with the right part takes a little patience. I'm glad it is together and my daughter seemed very happy.

Bonus Best Chili Recipe:

Yes, that is a flour tortilla in my bowl!

I personally put this recipe together myself. I worked on it for quite a while and I just love the taste. Every chili tastes different in my opinion but mine is the best! I know this because I love chili so much and have tasted so many different chili recipes. It began when I tasted some chili my step-father cooked. I asked him for his recipe and he gave it to me. I had to work on it though because I was in a phase where I loved to fiddle with recipes and make them all my own. I made this recipe the way I wanted my chili to taste for me. Another reason I say this is the Best Chili recipe is because everyone who tries my chili says it's the BEST they ever tasted. So it is confirmation for me that I have done a great job. I don't mind sharing my chili recipe with you at all. I want you to make it for yourself and see what you think.

This chili recipe makes a big pot of chili so you will want a big pot to cook it in. Rather than write the recipe down here, and please forgive me, I thought I would share an actual video of me making this chili for you. It is on one of my old YouTube channels and at the time of this post, the video is about seven years old. The video is only 3:52 minutes long. Here is my video Super Easy Chili Recipe. Let me know what you think in the comments here and in the video. I changed my mind on just sharing the video after looking at it but check it out anyway. You will see how it has changed. I will list the actual ingredients here.

Chili Ingredients: (I usually add everything in this order and let it cook on the stove for at least 30 minutes to get everything all cooked together.)

2 pounds meat
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 can mushrooms (small)
3 chili season packets (McCormick regular)
1 can tomato sauce (or 2 small cans)
1 can Rotel (regular)
1 big jar of salson (medium spicy - On The Border) or two small jars
1 bell pepper (chopped)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cans sweet corn
3 cans chili beans (regular)
2 cans kidney beans
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 bay leaves

*I like to place a flour tortilla in my bowl and top it with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chili cheese flavor Fritos. Yes! I love to eat chili!

As always, thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed my recipes and this blog post!

My Thoughts: (WARNING: This may sound like a gripe session but I am staying positive. Maybe you can relate to some of this.)

It has been a crazy week, and I need a slice of Impossible Cheeseburger Pie. My youngest daughter was not home Friday to meet the UPS guy who delivered her phone so it went back to the delivery center and will most likely be delivered Monday. Someone has to sign for the delivery. I was hoping she got her phone Friday because if you read my last post, I was worried someone would find my daughter's phone and keep it for their own use. That is exactly what happened. You would think people could be decent and return a very expensive technology device to the local phone store but nope. How disappointing. I know it is hard times for many people but I am of the opinion that people should live by the "Golden Rule" as much as possible.

I found out that someone found the phone because of the Find My app on my phone. I looked for my daughter's phone location and it did not show the location but a new phone number was in her spot. I texted the spot and explained that my daughter had lost her phone at the river and told them I would give a reward for them returning the phone. After a few minutes, I received a text back that said "Sorry wrong number" and I knew at that moment the person had found the phone put in a new SIM card, and was not going to return the phone. I didn't bother to text back.

My second daughter looked up the phone number on the Cash App and found the person's name. I looked up the person on Facebook and found a local person with that name. I didn't bother contacting them on Facebook because of the text they had sent me. I stopped by the local cellphone store and asked a store worker what I could do about my daughter's personal information on her phone. He told me to call my service provider and put in a lost/stolen report on the phone and then call Apple to help me wipe my daughter's phone clean so it would basically turn the phone into a "paperweight" and render the phone useless if they tried to use it with another service provider. That did make me feel better and I am going to do that for sure. I will keep you updated on that situation.

Then when I got home Friday night after work I didn't have Internet service at my house. It's a little personal to share but this is a personal blog after all so I will share what is going on. My wife and I have separated. (We are back together now, and saving our marriage.) It is sad but it happens in life. We have been married 32 years this October. We got married young. I hope that if she reads this post she isn't upset I shared it here. This blog is like therapy for me and it does help to write things out sometimes. There is an upside to the situation if you could say that. My wife and I are good friends in the situation and both of us are very nice to each other. Both of us agree that is the best thing to do and we do not point blame at each other. We are still figuring things out and going to file an uncontested divorce while we agree to share custody of our 16-year-old daughter. I shared that to explain my Internet service interruption. My wife rented an apartment and ordered a new Internet service account in her name for her apartment. The service provider said they could open her new account in her name but she already had an account in her name at our home. My wife was told that they would text me for verification purposes to have the home account in my name. I never received a text while I was at work so it wasn't set up. Hence, no Internet service at the house. I'm not mad at my wife. It wasn't her fault at all but I am a little discouraged at the Internet service provider and will let them know when I call Monday to set it up. I am staying positive and trying my best not to let things get to me.

After helping my wife move some things to her new apartment, I had to mow the yard. The mower started acting up and died a few times. Finally at the end of mowing, when I was close to being done, the mower died and I could not get it started again. It was getting dark so I just put it in neutral gear and pushed it to the backyard by the fire pit. What a weekend! I have been using my phone as a hot-spot to access the Internet so I am doing that while I write this post and streaming Netflix. My daughter is watching a good family movie that she really enjoys.

All in all, I am still very positive and grateful for all the blessings in my life. Can you relate to any of this? If you are going through a tough time right now, it is my nature to encourage you that things will get better. There are good times and bad times they say. Naturally, we don't like the bad times but I am of the opinion that we can make the bad times as good as possible by maintaining a good attitude and prayer.

Thoughts On Impossible Cheeseburger Pie Easy Recipe:

So where in the world did the Cheeseburger Pie recipe come from? The inventor of this delicious recipe goes by the name of Derek McNabb. He is the Rosebowl Cafe head baker. The original creation had two Agus beef patties. It had pickles, onions, mustard, and two types of cheese inside it.

Extra:

Can you freeze Impossible pie? The answer is YES and all you have to do is wrap it tightly in aluminum foil and place it in the freezer. When you are craving this tasty dish, just take it out and place it in the oven until it is warmed well. Also, if you missed my last post, you might enjoy it. Quote For The Day:

"Es wird nichts so hieb gesessen, wie es gekocht wird." - Translation "Nothing gets eaten as hot as it has been cooked." - Medium.com

Food For Thought:

The first time I had Bierocks I absolutely fell in love with them. They are so delicious! I was at a family member's house when these wonderful beef pastries first touched my palette. Ok, now I sound like a professional blogger, don't I? I remember eating two or three and then the dough swelled in my belly. I was forced to stretch out on the couch and just moan with fullness.

You should have seen me. I am sure that you are glad you didn't. It was such a sight.
If you don't mind hearing about my day I will be glad to share with you here. I cleaned up in the kitchen and worked on some laundry. After I finished those chores I visited my mother at her house. It was her birthday on Friday.

I was unable to visit her because I went to the local farmer's market with my daughter. She had about seven different cookies for sale. Her newest item was a strawberry crinkle cookie that sold out very well. One customer, in particular, was very interesting. He was almost seven feet tall by my estimation.

He sported a full beard that was speckled with gray hairs. He had bright blue eyes and spoke in the deepest voice I think I have ever heard. He was like a giant and I am 5 foot 11 inches. He softly asked my daughter if he could have two of the strawberry crinkle cookies. He slowly handed my daughter the money and took the cookies in his large hand which resembled a bunch of bananas.

He gave my daughter a little smile and said "Thank you" as he walked away. After visiting my mother at her house, my daughter wanted to go for a drive. We made a large circle on the outer paved roads here in the area. Sometimes a drive is a nice thing to do.

More Information On Bierocks:

Bierocks were commonly consumed by European blue-collar workers as a popular staple. Over time German Russian Mennonites brought the beefy dish to the United States when they immigrated in the 1870s. Eventually, bierocks were found popular among those living in the West. Kansas is the state that is most popular for bierocks. You can read more about Why Bierocks Are A Kansas Staple
