Apple Crumble Pie Recipe

Quote For The Day:

"Of emotions, of love, of breakup, of love and hate and death and dying, mama, apple pie, and the whole thing. It covers a lot of territory, country music does." - Johnny Cash

Food For Thought:

Photo Credit: Just For Jokes - Facebook

I am always telling my youngest daughter dad jokes. Being a dad of three daughters it has always been one of my major goals to make my girls laugh. I love to see them smile. I don't care how corny the joke is, I will tell it to them just to make them laugh if I can. I may get a comment from my daughter like "Stop it!" but I know she thought it was funny because of the smile I get back. It touches my heart just to write about it. It's a dad thing.

Just For Jokes on Facebook shared this food meme and I had to share. It makes me think of the time I had a flat tire. I heard a noise and pulled over to the closest parking lot to take a look at my tire. I knew as soon as I heard the sound I was having a flat. The air was hissing out.

I looked at the tire and saw a piece of metal sticking out. I put the small spare tire on my car and drove to the tire shop to have my flat fixed. When the tire shop mechanic looked at my tire he came inside to show me what was in my tire. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a quarter that was folded in half and it had poked through my tire.

I asked the mechanic if my tire could be fixed. He said it couldn't. I was forced to purchase a new tire. The new price was $75. A 25-cent quarter had cost me $75! How the quarter got folded in half and punched through my tire was beyond me. I kept the quarter in my coin jar. I still have it today. I am glad I had asparagus.

Extra Information For You:

The origin of Apple Crumble pie is from around World War II. The recipe first made its appearance in British cookbooks. The abundance of apples is the main reason for this apple dessert being created. It wasn't a pie at first and was just the filling with crumble on top. During the 50's and 60's this apple crumble pie gained more popularity. You can learn more about Apple Crumble by visiting Slurrp. They have a great recipe to share and a video to watch.

My Thoughts On Apple Crumble Pie:

I really enjoy the taste of apple and cinnamon filling. The crumble topping really gives a wonderful brown sugar taste to the apples. I like to have a cup of black coffee with this dessert. My youngest daughter makes the best crumble topping. She makes cupcakes and puts her cinnamon crumble on top of them. They taste so delicious.
