English toffee has an interesting history. It is thought that the word toffee came from the word taffy. Toffee first showed up in the Oxford Dictionary in the year 1825. My Thoughts On Toffee Nut Bars:
These Toffee Nut Bars give the greatest toffee flavor you are looking for in a dessert. The butter and brown sugar flavor set well with chopped black walnuts. You can use your favorite nut if you don't like black walnuts.
The simplicity of this recipe is it's secret. I enjoy English Toffee in any form. You can finish any dinner with this dessert. It is a great choice for any special event. If you want to add an extra butter flavor to this recipe you can incorporate browned butter into the making process. I promote browned butter because my youngest daughter uses it so much in the cookies she bakes.
