We went fishing at a state park and we didn't catch many fish. In fact, the only fish we caught were very small fish. They were less that four inches long. We were fishing close to the bank where the litter fish were. We wasn't upset about the fish we caught. We put the little fish back in the water. What made this fishing experience so great was the fact we were outdoors togher doing something fun.

My Thoughts On Amish Sugar Cookies:



If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you may already know what I am going to say about cookies in general. Cookies are an easy sugar snack I like to take on the go or relaxing. These Amish Sugar Cookies are some of the best regular sugar cookies.



When it comes to cookies, my all time favorite cookie baker is my youngest daughter. She makes the best cookies ever! She thinks I say that because I am her dad but she is mistaken. I will brag on my daughter any time because she is my daughter but I have proof her cookies are the best because other people will say the same thing. People love her cookies. She puts her heart and sound into baking.



Amish Sugar Cookies Recipe - (Cookies)



Ingredients:



  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs (well beaten)
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Additional sugar



Instructions:



  1. Combine the sugars, butter, and the oil; beat well.
  2. Beat in the eggs.
  3. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add all you sifted to the sugar mixture and mix well.
  5. Stir in the vanilla.
  6. Form into small balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Flatten with a fork, and sprinkle with the additional sugar.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.


*You may substitute 1 teaspoon of lemon extract for 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for a lemon flavor.
